WORDPRESS TECH SUPPORT

JOB DESCRIPTION

We’re looking for a remote, independent contractor to provide technical support to customers using Photocrati’s WordPress themes and plugins. We’re looking for an enthusiastic individual with substantial knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm for WordPress and for helping others with technical web issues. We also prefer to hire someone who is a photography enthusiast and can relate to our customer base. Some of the specific duties include:

  • Provide technical support to our theme customers via email/support ticket
  • Basic support issues: working with users new to install WordPress, install and configure our theme, work our theme options panel, do basic customization
  • Advanced support issues: troubleshoot hosting configuration issues, browser compatibility issues, plugin conflicts,
  • Write tutorials with screenshots and possibly video on common help needs
  • Help with theme and plugin testing for new theme update and releases
  • You’ll also be welcome to provide feedback on future theme and plugin development

REQUIREMENTS: KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

The candidate should have demonstrated experience doing advanced WordPress development and working in a diversity of hosting environments. Applicants must meet the following core criteria:

  • Advanced knowledge of WordPress installation, theme development, customization.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, MySQL databases, FTP, PHP
  • Knowledge of Firefox Firebug or Google Chrome Developer tools and familiarity with cross browser issues
  • Experience working with and troubleshooting a variety of hosting solutions / server configurations

Any of the following would be an asset:

  • Advanced photography enthusiast with a knowledge of existing photography website solutions

POSITION DETAILS

  • Hours. Work hours will be flexible, but we generally need people who can work predictable blocks during normal business hours, Mon-Friday. We need someone who can work at least 10-20 hours per week.
  • Compensation: $15/hr. Open to negotiation based for those with substantial experience.
  • Start Date: Immediate
