Case Management is a collaborative process to promote quality cost effective outcomes, which enhance the physical, psycho-social, and vocational health of individuals. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluation of service options. A Case Manager provides technical knowledge and experience to the field of medical case management and strives to eliminate costly mistakes. The goal of a Case Manager is to assist the injured worker in receiving appropriate, cost effective medical care for their injury in a timely manner, and to expedite their return to work.

Workers comp and case management experience is preferred, however, EK Health is willing to train the right candidate with sound critical thinking and nursing experience.

Position Logistics: full-time, work from home with regular driving/ local travel

Job Responsibilities:
-Attend appointments with injured workers to assist with coordination of care
-Act as a liaison between the injured worker, claims adjuster, treating physician, etc with the goal of return to work
-Complete reports in written and verbal forms in a timely manner
-Professional interaction with EKHS staff, members of the medical community, and all customers of EKHS; both in oral and written forms
- All work is done within the scope of practice for a Registered Nurse in California
-Participate in EKHS Nursing teleconferences and staff meetings as scheduled

Job Requirements:

o Minimum of 2 years of care-giving experience as an RN
o Experience in Field Case Management, Workers' Compensation experience strongly preferred, but related experience in Home Health, etc, considered
o Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
o Valid California RN license in good standing with no restrictions
o Possesses and can demonstrate the professional and technical skills of a Registered Nurse
o Experience in Home Health Care, Occupational Health considered a plus
o Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills
o Excellent Interpersonal Skills
o Strong Organization Skills
o High comfort level with computers and computer programs (MS Word, MS Excel, Email)
o Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
o Ability to meet deadlines in a high pressure, time sensitive environment
