Oakbrook Terrace Board Committee FT job, meetings, mailings, agenda materials

The Board of Commissioners Specialist works on a team in supporting activities related to the operations and functions of the Joint Commission Board of Commissioners and its Committees and of Joint Commission advisory groups. The position works directly with Joint Commission senior officers with respect to meetings and mailings of Board and Committee agenda materials and oversees the production of the agenda items, assuring the accuracy of all materials. The specialist attends and staffs meetings of the Board of Commissioners, Board Committees, and advisory groups, and routinely interacts with members of the Joint Commission Board. Additionally, the specialist writes in-depth meeting minutes and summaries on complex health care issues that succinctly describe the key points, discussion, and actions taken and completes such in a timely manner with the goal of minimal required revisions. Additional responsibilities include: coordinating special interdepartmental projects related to Board activities and the advisory groups, including managing advisory group appointments; working on a department team to plan and implement the annual Liaison Network Forum; and maintaining a Web site for Board members.

A bachelor's degree and three to five years of experience in policy and administration, public relations, public policy, association management, or another field in which the candidate has demonstrated strong writing abilities. Excellent writing skills, with work products that are concise, accurate, grammatically correct, and warranting only minor edits. Analytical, organizational, interpersonal, teams skills and ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines. Experience and/or strong interest in health care. Knowledge of the Joint Commission's policies and procedures is preferred.
