The work aims to create a database driven application to control the operational components of a fish farm. The application will allow managers to keep track of stock, a traceability component and assist with sales. We are looking to provide a product that is practical for the user and handles a range of small to large farms.

The application must allow farms to monitor operational aspects. We envisage such software to provide the following functionalities:
- Allow user to customize the application to different fish farming operations;
- Allow users to identify where (a) stock/seed has been sourced, (b) ability to customize growing structures on the farm and (c) when it is due to be harvested;
- Allow users to input information about their farming practice, operational data and environmental parameters;
- Provide a mechanism for farm managers to keep track of stock on a farm, providing breakdowns of stock by sector, by date of seeding, expected harvest month;
- Custom alerts to tell the user when a key date (e.g. harvesting) is approaching.

Furthermore, we are looking for the application to:

1) Use a relational database developed in Microsoft Access;
2) Be developed using Embarcadero C++ Builder.

We invite any interested parties to contact us for more information (info@longline.co.uk). We will select a contractor on the basis of concept, implementation, cost, timing and track record. Please feel free to contact the project manager, Rui Gomes Ferreira for any clarification.
